Organization
St.
John’s LYO is open to
all youth in the congregation in grades 6-12. We often include
younger children in our events with the older ones serving as
role models.
Currently our LYO
maintains “Seeds of Youth,” a vegetable garden in the
congregation’s field. They have planted radishes, tomatoes,
peas, beets, carrots, and peppers which when harvested are
taken to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities
Outreach Center Food Bank.

The LYO
members are also involved beyond the
Pottstown area.
Amanda Hoffman is the Upper Montgomery Conference
representative to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod’s
Youth Ministry Board.
Most
importantly, our youth are involved in the worship life
of this congregation. Members of the LYO, as well as
their younger brothers and sisters in Christ, are
regular Worship Assistants serving as Acolytes,
Crucifers, Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, Music Leaders,
Communion Assistants, and Assisting Ministers. There is
no distinction among our members; all are children of
God, no matter what their
age. | |
